The New York Times set out to write a short article about (I believe) every person who died there, not just obituaries, but written by their staff writers. Did it ever get assembled into a book? I really don’tknow. I didn’t subscribe to the Times, so I didn’t read them all of course, but it was the one “writing” project that came out of the tragedy that I remember as haunting. Day after day they appeared, all personalized, could see author had taken time and research to do.
